design, design
When
using ostrich leather for manufacture, I do believe that the product
design should enhance the ostrich leather. Ostrich leather is a
prestigious leather and is expensive compared to commercial leathers
like bovine.
The
photo below is a good example of a balanced design (courtesy of
FAITH FOOTWEAR). The shoe sole form flows into the upper. The ostrich
quill is introduced subtly on the upper and the sock is made from
plain ostrich leather. The Winter White, Emporium Blue and Black
sole colours works well together.

The photo below
is a good example of a balanced quill design (courtesy of PIRMA
AFRICA). It is critical that quill pattern is balanced and spread
in the correct places. The larger quill placed in front of the boot
(soccer ball contact area). The soft contrast of the quill also
does allow the product not to be too "busy"
